Ecoversity Timbuktu in the Valley

Timbuktu in the Valley is a learning space in Lorentzville, Johannesburg, devoted to equipping local youth with skills that allow them to become independent, self-determined citizens.

It is founded on the principle of sharing and passing on knowledge as a response to the prevailing exclusivity of opportunity in South Africa. Based in Johannesburg’s new creative hub, Victoria Yards, we have access to a wide arrange of skills and a network of inspirational people.

Remembering the legacy of Africa’s first university in the ancient Timbuktu, Mali, our principle is to expose young people to options for possible careers and independent income generation, enable them to reach their true essence and provide opportunities to become active, conscious agents in this world.
