Ecoversity Projeto Ancora

From Ecoversities Source

Projeto Âncora was created in 1995, by a couple that, when they retired, realized their old dream of dedicating themselves to the social area. The space was, at first, a civil association of social development that had the challenge of improving the reality of low-income children and teenagers in the municipality of Cotia, in the metropolitan area of São Paulo, and in the region. In 2012, the space took an important step when it decided to expand its action and become a formal school, with the help of teacher José Pacheco, founder of the Bridge School, in Portugal. Today, Projeto Âncora School offers all the basic education segments, from Kindergarten to High School. The school has been consolidating itself as a pioneer in social assistance work, that, allied to education, provides children, youngsters and their communities with the necessary tools to end the vicious circle of poverty and contribute to a fairer, more upright and sustainable society. The institution is recognised for several innovations that have made it a national reference in new educational practices.
