The San José de Aparatadó Community has opted for community work and has renounced individualism and speculation, replacing them with community values, affinity and respect for the land. Several of the Community's villages are almost self-sustainable in terms of food production and have also managed to market some agricultural products that provide them with financial resources. Together with other communities, they have formed the Universidad Campesina, a project for the exchange of knowledge between rural communities living in the midst of the conflict. This project aims to demonstrate that resistance is a matter of daily life.
